This is a street map travelling up the Chessels in Bedminster. These are the shops I remember from the sixties. Anyone else remember them?

Chris Jorgensen

"The grocers on corner of The Chessels and Ashfield Rd was run by Mr and Mrs White - used to have sacks of potatoes inside the shop and would wrap what the customers wanted in newspaper so the dirt from the spuds didn't get on the rest of the shopping."

Philip Chorley

"Bottom of Chessels and Luckwell there was a newsagent that sold Marvel and DC magazines - Partridges."

Philip Chorley
